About Us
Our head instructor and trainer, Stephanie, has been involved in the horse industry for over 40Â years. She has competed successfully in the disciplines of Hunters, Show Jumpers and Combined Training and has created Stonehouse Equestrian as a vehicle to pass on her knowledge and skills to other riders.

Meet Our Horses
Stephanie currently owns 3 horses of her own in addition to caring for several horses belonging to others.
All the horses at Stonehouse Equestrian have friendly personalities.

Introducing...
Elsa
Elsa is the most playful and curious of our horses. Her favorite hobbies are sniffing your feet, dumpster diving and stealing bottle caps off your drinks.
She's a wonderful lesson horse who teaches students to use the skills they've acquired. Especially grooming skills!
She is an Appaloosa Mare
in her late-teens.
Introducing...
Theodore
Theodore was a lesson pony extraordinaire!
While he could be a bit opinionated and stubborn, he took excellent care of his littlest riders, as young as 18 months old. He's adorable and he knew it.
He was a machine on trails and had the perfect, slow little jog to teach kids how to trot.
He was a medium Welsh Pony
in his mid 20s.
Sadly, we lost Theodore on Dec 18, 2025 after a brief illness. We miss him terribly.

JJ is a simple soul. He is sweet and a complete goober.

Introducing...
Wine Card
Wine Card aka "Chuck" was a 28 going on 3 year old Off The Track Thoroughbred. He had a penchant for getting into trouble. It is considered to be a good week when he doesn't come into the barn bleeding.
Chuck was fearless, enjoying things most other horses do not. Like Fireworks which he found fascinating. It is this fearlessness and the fact he thought he was a dog that made him try to do things or go places he shouldn't, with cuts and scrapes as the inevitable result.
He also loved to help you with whatever chore you're trying to do. This of course means the project took twice as long. He was my personal horse.
We laid Chuck to rest on October 1, 2025 after we discovered cancer in his jaw.

Introducing...
Simply Sassy
Another of my personal horses, Sassy is the complete opposite of Chuck. She's beautiful, she knows it and she expects to be the center of attention.
She's a diva and she will tell you she's perfect; she's not wrong.
She's a black 30 year old
BWPN Belgian Warmblood
and she is retired.
